1. Product Application
FKW18-15/27/36/630-20 model outdoor alternating current high voltage load break switch is a new model load switch that adopts domestic existing mature load breaker switch production experience and overseas advanced technology to design and manufacture. The load breaker switch is composed of disconnect blade, Arc extinguishing chamber and operation mechanism. Applying arc extinguish principle by producing gas, there are merits as simple structure, less maintenance, strong extinguishing arc ability, high level of insulation for cross-gap, reliable performance, etc.
The load breaker switch is applicable for rated voltage 40.5kV and below, rated frequency 50Hz outdoor three-phase alternating current power distribution system, with load breaking and closing distribution line, also breaking and closing no-load line and no-load transformer. On the position of opening, it could meet the requirement of disconnecting for disconnect switch.
2. Ambient Environment Conditions:
a) Ambient air temperature: upper limit +40ºC, down limit-25ºC, daily temperature difference: not exceeding 32k;
b) Altitude above sea level: 1000m
c) Wind pressure not exceeding 700pa (equal to wind speed 34m/s)
d) Air pollution degree: IV class, according to clause 4.1 ruled in GB5582.
e) Earthquake intensity: not exceeding 8 degrees;
f) Covering ice thickness: not exceeding 10mm.
5. Product Structure and Working Principle
5.1 The product main body structure is as drawing 1.
5.2 Structure and features:
FKW18-36/630-20 model outdoor alternating current high voltage load breaker switch is composed of disconnect blade, arc extinguishing chamber and operating mechanism. Arc extinguishing chamber is made of insulating materials with high electric performance, arc-endurance, high strength, produce gas to extinguish arc. Built-in linking spring with fast acting mechanism to ensure breaking of loaded current effecting free from operating speed, fast or slow.
The arcing gap and disconnecting gap of the load breaker switch is parallel in the course of opening and closing, so the arcing gap is only used to extinguish arc, no task for carrier current, simplifying arcing structure; however the disconnect gap only takes on task for carrier current and short-circuit closing, not participating in extinguishing arc, so simple in structure and long in lifetime. In this way, the load breaker switch can be used as disconnect switch when don't consider the action of arcing gap, and with the action of arcing gap, the disconnect switch is changed into load break switch.
This load break switch adopts manual linking rod or motor operating mechanism to operate, and to lock up location of opening & closing. There is visible gap of switch after opening to produce functions of isolating and protection. The LBS could be mounted on pole outdoor, could suit for pollution with IV degree, horizontal or vertical installation, very convenient for setting cables outdoor with few maintenance and arc extinguishing chamber breaking load without maintenance for 100 times.

The A, B, C three-phase of the load breaker switch is in turn installed on one great sectional galvanized square steels base, joint together with one integrative drive axis inter-phase to ensure for closing & opening three poles synchronously. The blade of the switch uses press spring, to assure enough connection pressure to the contact, in this way, operation is convenient and the blade is stable, in the same time, the reliability of opening-closing operation is guaranteed. The switch opens or closes under rated load current, not requires connecting secondary protection device.
5.3 Working Principle
This Load Break Switch adopts tubular ring slot model air producing arc-extinguishing structure. When the switch needs to open from closing position, contact of disconnect blade open first, to transfer working current to ring type fixed contact in arc-extinguish chamber trough linking aluminium shelf and screw of arc-extinguish chamber, via moving contact rod, spring mechanism, soft linkage, external slice of moving contact and transfer to split slice of isolating blade. Due to circumgyration movement of isolating blade, cam drives the operating crank of arc-extinguish chamber, bring along spring mechanism in arc-extinguish chamber to make moving contact open, with the function of spring, electric arc pulled long, and burnt in ring type slot between insulating tube, made of producing gas material and insulating rod, gas producing material produce gas to form air-blow pressure to extinguish the electric arc under high temperature of arc, the exhaust gas transgress from exhaust holes at tube terminal.

6. Installation And Adjustment:
6.1 Opening the switch box, checking there is distortion and damage or not to the switch parts; whether the product nameplate and certificate of conformity are conformable to the order; whether the packing list is conformable to virtual product, and whether the spare and accessories are all ready. If no error, clear off dust on the surface of the switch, measures the resistance of the switch main circuit, travel of contact, decline of the blade closing position and 1min power frequency withstand voltage test. Some user can have a test of closing synchronously if they have switch mechanical traits test instrument. Test completed, if the data conforms the table 1, one can install switch on the power pole.
6.2 Trait parameter adjusting of the switch and assembling adjusting is finished adjusting and testing before product leaves factory by the manufacturer. The user is forbidden to dismantle or adjust the switch. If it is in faith necessary to dismantle or adjust the switch for a special reason, the one must get the manufacturer's agreement and do with the manufacturer's aid, then carry out the relevant test according to the leaving factory test item.
6.3 Installation and application:
6.3.1 Before installation, strictly check the opening-closing position of the disconnect blade, forbid the blade stopping at the half open half closed position. When operating, no stagnation in the whole course. Before the switch serves, properly add lubricant on active position to make it flexible, and stably opening-closing.
6.3.2 Whether correct of installation for switch body and operating system, is directly concerned for normal operation of switch, in this case, it has to be executed strictly for following points:
6.3.2.1 The situation should be full "close" for switch before lifting up, and blade should be stick on buffer, lifting under situation of half open & half close or full open is not allowed. When lift, hook should hang inside two bolts of flying ring, it is not permitted for hook hangs on effective parts of base of switch body, to ensure no any distortion due to pull of lifting wire or tilt of switch, thus effect the normal usage of switch.
